SHAKEspeare is inspired by four tragedies written by William Shakespeare: Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, and Othello. SHAKEspeare is a mounting, polyphonic journey across the four plays, identifying the parallels between main characters, emotions, situations, and scenes. The combination of different plays together in one work enhances the intense color palette of human nature evident in each individually. In this performance, love and power are made transparent, as existential plights of life and death are passionately enacted by the performers as they expertly navigate the labyrinth of human relationships. Pleasant and peaceful lives gradually evolve and culminate in a story of despair, fateful decisions, passion, and death. A predominant idea of this performance is the quest to intertwine theatrical genres and styles, freely crossing from drama to dance and transcending traditions of individual forms. SHAKEspeare incorporates elements of many art forms, synthesizing recorded speech with physical movement, dance, and video art.

“In the kaleidoscope named “SHAKEspeare” each will find their own, will mount from the eternal “Shakespearean material” their own meaning. But nevertheless, one lasting impression emerges — hiding behind “the high service of true values”; man kills and maims others, guided exclusively by selfishness. And success can be attained only by way of paradox, absurd, reverse logic, being in the fairytale space just for some time or maybe forever, by falling out of reality”.
